Tajpur is one of the hidden beaches in India. Tajpur beach lies in the Purba Medinipur district of South Bengal. It lies on the Kolkata – Digha route and just 16 km before Digha. Tajpur is one of Bengal’s recently discovered tourist destination that lies close to the ever popular Mandarmoni and Shankarpur.

In Tajpur, prime attraction is its sea beach with a dense of tamarisk trees. Red crabs are found during day time as it is looks like red carpet which welcoming you. Seagulls are also being seen at the break of dawn here at Tajpur.

Shankarpur is a twin beach of around 14 km east of Digha in West Bengal. It is also a regular fishing harbour. The mornings are cool, when fishermen can be seen hauling their huge nets out of the sea. It’s a secluded beach, fringed by casuarinas and eucalyptus trees.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Tajpur

Early morning, start from Kolkata towards Digha. Breakfast at Kolaghat. Check-in at hotel / resort. Go out to the sea for a bath (must), spend some time around in the beach & return to the hotel / resort – sun tanned. Have lunch & take a afternoon siesta. Evening free for local souvenir shopping. Night stay in Hotel / Resort.

Day 2 : Shankarpur

In the morning watch sunrise over the sea. Take a stroll in the beach. Have breakfast and drive through the newly constructed beach road towards Shankarpur. Return to hotel and have lunch.
Return journey towards Kolkata.
